Take your characters' voice and choices to the next level with improvised and written monologues created by you! Celebrate their quirks, idiosyncrasies, flaws, and talents a la Character Assassination and more!
Develop an entire world from a single suggestion with characters of your own creation via Longform sets guided by seasoned Improvisor and Director Kristin McCollum! In this workshop we will explore different styles of longform improv, various types of scenes within the longform and a variety of ways to create instant characters for these scenarios.
How do you know which way to go in a scene and what should happen next? It’s all about the story!
Explore the basics of story structure by practicing telling stories and applying them to improvised scenes. The focus will be on the following:
1. Learning basic story structure.
2. How to tell a satisfying story with a beginning, middle and end.
3. How to apply this basic story structure to improvising scenes.
Put pen to paper with a focus on “yes, and”ing yourself, being judgement-free, and making bold choices before editing! Unlock your creative writing side with the guidance of experienced theater-maker, dramaturg, writer and improviser Elizagrace Madrone!
This class will focus on the basics of Musical Improvisation. These include creating organic melodies, understanding how to create a memorable hook through the use of rhythm, range and silence, understanding how melodic content can lead to song structure.
By the end of the class, the class as a whole, will be able to improvise a memorable full song! We will have fun and sing our hearts out!
Learn to love SPACEWORK and see all the ways it fuels your games and scenes! Get tips on creating and interacting with objects, and experience how it adds a whole new dimension to what you do…and what your characters do!
