CHARACTER IMPROV 3-DAY INTENSIVE

This 3-day deep-dive into character will provide you with the experience of relying on full-fledged characters to drive scenes, taking you beyond one-dimensional ‘characters’ which you cannot trust to carry you.
Approach the fundamentals of improv emphasizing character (the “who”) exploring how a scene grows and deepens from the character’s information, thoughts, behaviors, emotional life, and relationships. You will not use any particular format or structure, focusing more on the building blocks of scenes and how character expands your abilities to add specifics, drive action, and open up worlds of possibility.
Participants will also discuss and explore what constitutes a character, create a wide variety of new characters, and unpack how Character Improv is unique to all other forms of improvisation.
Pre-req: anyone with a LEVEL 1 proficiency from any school
