MICHAEL GOLDFRIED, Instructor

Michael Goldfried is an improvisor, writer, director & coach with an MFA in directing from Brown University. Since discovering improvisation while attending Vassar College, Michael went on to study improv with Keith Johnstone and perform with BATS in San Francisco, and later UCB, Gotham and Improvolution in New York. He is a professional director and  has worked on comedies and new plays at theaters such as The Public Theater, Theatre Row and the Goodman Theatre. In addition to teaching and performing improv at Improvolution, he works with iMergence and is a private coach for improvisators, actors and directors. He is a professor of directing at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) and is on the directing faculty at Pace University and teaches improv at Marymount Manhattan College. michaelgoldfried.com.
