  • CLOWNING & PHYSICAL THEATRE with Yuval Boim (3 classes)

  • MUSIC IMPROV with Rob Schiffmann (3 classes)

  • LONGFORM CLAP-INS with Holly Mandel (3 classes)

I. Improvolution students will be exposed to core concepts and components of clowning & physical theater with Yuval Boim*.

These class will show you how to use your body and movement itself in your improv work.

Clowning skills explore the various tools and methods to approach story and character physically; an overview of the art of clowning and physical theater.

II. You will then spend 3 classes in music improv with Rob Schiffman*

Music improv is not JUST for ‘singers’, it’s a very effective teaching tool to help you embrace cadences, listen more intently and communicate more freely using concepts like ‘rhythm, range, and silence’. You will learn tools that carry over into traditional improv scenes and games.

III. Finally, you will immerse yourself in 3 classes of longform, focused on the ‘clap-in’ format with Holly Mandel*

In class, we will cover the variety of longform structures and then focus on the CLAP-IN, which is one of the most flexible and character-friendly forms; you will learn how to build and sustain sets, the components and tools. Students will be ‘self-sufficient’ upon completion of this training to form performing troupes or join longform shows.
